Automatically Rotating PDP TV

Purpose of research

Automatically rotating PDP TV mounting device for detects the presence and location of customers by using various sensors, rotates to the direction of the detected human body, and eventually provided some effective information to customers

Research content
  • Development of a 3DOF PDP TV mounting device having swivel, tilting, and extension
  • Development of algorithms to detect the position of human body using sensor fusion(PIR and ultrasonic sensors)

Autonomous human tracking of robotic lamp

Purpose of research

Robotic lamp system of automatic human tracking based on ubiquitous sensor network which provides people with a localized light

Research content
  • Development of a 3DOF a parallel mechanism to control two tilting and rotational angles for zooming motion
  • Development of algorithms to detect the position of human body using the Kalman filter and data association

Robotic lamp system based on Zigbee sensor
network using PIR sensors

Robotic lamp system based on laser scanners

Autonomous human tracking Algorithm for a Marathoner Service Robot

Purpose of research

This research presents a human detection algorithm and an obstacle avoidance algorithm for a marathoner service robot (MSR) that provides a service to a marathoner while training.

Research content
  • the mobile robot should have the abilities to follow a running human and avoid dynamically moving obstacles in an unstructured outdoor environment.
  • To detect a human by a laser range finder (LRF), we defined features of the human body in LRF data and employed a support vector data description method.

Planar Multiarticulated Omnidirectional Mobile Robot

Purpose of research
  • For a mobile robot to have an omnidirectional characteristic in planar space, the wheel mechanism of the mobile robot should be modeled as three degrees of freedom.
  • The caster wheel or Swedish wheel can be kinematically modeled as three degrees of freedom serial chain.
